ADVOCACY, SHORT‑TERM GOALS:
• Identify the people who will act as the liaison between
the dance community and the public, volunteers from the
dance milieu, us, organizations, companies, schools,
indie artists, dance lovers
• Research to set priorities and create a platform action
plan, contacting/connecting with funding board, policy
team within this community
• Identify who we contact at the public levels, Members of
Parliament, aldermen, educational institutions,
educational cultural
• Create a network to be able to present who supports
these ideas for validation
• Create portfolios of dance information, companies,
education, funding bodies, starting from us here

• The importance of dance legacy and dance's integral role

ARTIFACTS

ARTIFACTS, SHORT‑TERM GOALS:
• More recognition and support from dance community for
existing work in dance archiving
• Start a capital fund for DCD building and storage,
example house next door. Need to crate awareness
regarding this need with community and funders,
temporary partnerships
• Identify who to talk to at Canadian Heritage regarding
space
• GAS apply funding April 1, start training Fall 2006
• Need for immediate one‑time large chunk of money for
video transfer project to more stable formats, keep
bringing this up but nothing has happened
ARTIFACTS, MID‑TERM GOALS:
• CIDD funding pending, will know in March
• Start building database in 2006/07 fiscal year, data
input tied to G.A.S. on going forever project that will
require on‑going funding commitment
• Awareness of CIDD how it works and what it can do
• Active search for stuff outside the dance community,
ancestral collections
