Update: December 22, 2005
Project Goals:
- Preservation and transfer of original Archival Collection (film, video, paper & photo)
- Archival Standard Inventory & Catalogue of Archival Collection (with Master, Working and Loaner copies of each item)
- Physical transfer of archival items from various collections to standardized storage facility
Completed to Date:
Appropriate format types for master, working and loaner copies
Best transfer and preservation methodologies
Storage facility requirements
Inventory and Catalogue requirements
- Membership with regional archival association (AABC)
- Consultation with preservationist consultants as regards to paper and photo archives with action plan for those items
- Communications with transfer technician regarding transfer and preservation methods for video/film collection
- Transfer of film/video collection to temperature and humidity controlled storage facility
- Appointment set with Film Preservation Consultant to finalize storage facility requirements and transfer process
- Preliminary inventory with content/description/dates etc. compiled and updated/verified
Upcoming:
- Fundraising for transfer, consultant, storage & archival material costs
- Scanning, photocopying & preservation of photo & paper archives
- Transfer and preservation of film & video archives
- Creation of Master, working and loaner copies
- Creation of public catalogue and archival standard inventory
